Goals
1. Secured funding for stipends and group administration/activities.
2. Increased number of KANDU members.
3. Overdose Prevention and Response training for people who use drugs.
4. Access to and training around the use of Naloxone (Narcan) for opiate overdoses.
5. Installation of sharps drop boxes in Rutland area.
6. Establishment of a pick-up crew to clean up used injection equipment.
7. Changes to bylaws regarding harm reduction equipment and used materials.
8. Changes to bylaws that disproportionally affect marginalized people.
9. Increased awareness of substance use as a health care issue rather than a legal issue.
a. RCMP will not attend overdose calls.
b. Health care providers will not call RCMP on patients who use illicit substances.
10. Increased awareness of substance use in the community as a whole.
